A year of consolidation with a 200 mile flat move to push me into moving the kit on which had been sitting around doing nothing for a couple of years as well as one or two things which just weren't doing anything for me.

Established two really good systems, mostly at the beginning of the year, and it has been more stable than it has in many years. I don't see there being a great deal of change during 2015, though I do intend to get my Rega RP3 a new cartridge and I would like to add some digital capability to the living room system. This will either mean a Rega DAC-r or changing the Brio-R for a Quad Vena. I am also interested in the Inspire Quest upgrade for my RP3. Otherwise, with a big job to do at work in 2015, the hi-fi is going to be about coming home and enjoying the music rather than fretting about the equipment.

2015?

I really want a Creek 50D CD player but cannot justify paying nearly £1000 for occasional use. I very nearly went for a 50A/50D combination a couple of months ago by trading in my 5350/Evo2 but pulled out at the last minute after sleeping on it for a few days and deciding that a) it was costing far too much and b) my 5350 sounds so good, would the 50A really be any better, or at best a sideways move? Currently I'm living without a CD player ( using my laptop into the Caiman via USB instead ), but quite fancy one of those half size CDPs like a TEAC or Pro-Ject.

I also was considering trialling a Quad Vena amp, but again listening to the Creek dissuaded me from taking it any further.

So other than getting 6 numbers up on the lottery, I don't foresee any major additions in 2015 other than a CDP possibly.
