Hi guys, as a relatative newcomer to WHF could anyone advise me on a blu ray player purchase. Current viewing is via ps3 but want a noticeble upgrade. Would any of the entry models ie, sony 350/360, panny bdp60 significantly improve picture, or do need to part with a bit more cash. I am considering pioneer 51fd or the newer 320.

I can only speak from my own experience - I upgraded from a PS3 to a Panasonic DMP-BD80 in June, and while I think it is an improvement, the margin is fairly small. The picture seems slightly more solid and detailed, while the sound quality (HD audio decoded onboard and sent over multichannel analogue) is noticably clearer and punchier. Overall it's a pretty great player, but I hasten to add that the PS3 is definitely no slouch either.

My advice would be to read the Blu-ray feature in the September issue - it highly rates the Sony 360 and Pioneer 320 in particular, while the BD80 has (disappointingly) been docked a star already.
