Pebbles can make a difference to the sound of a hifi. They do not change the hifi, they change the listener

- who is now happier with their hifi's sound, so it gets better

- who uses purchase conviction to convince themselves the pebbles were worthwhile and so their hifi sounds better.

The same is also true for cables.
