imported turntable

hi all,am considering buying a turntable from the united states,would it be safe to use with a voltage convertor?

its the musical hall ikura,have'nt been able to find anywhere here that has it

Ah right. The only Music Hall turntables I know of were all re-badged Pro-Ject Debuts, but I agree this one doesn't seem to be. If you read the manual it does state that the power supply is either 115V/60Hz (ie US mains) or 230V/50Hz (ie our mains). Maybe it's switchable. Why not email them and ask.

There's a list of distributors in Europe. You would only need a plug adapter to use the ikura in the UK.

I just saw one yesterday at my local hi-fi shop. It looks cool in person. It comes in white and black and the one I saw was in white. Comes with an Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge. Don't think you can go wrong for the price unless you have a lot of duties and taxes to pay for importing it.
