Humax Freesat box postcode problem

Got myself a Human box. Love it. The HD content is awesome.

One little niggle – I set my postcode (WRx xxx - I'm in Worcester) and it picks up BBC London region programming, rather than the local broadcast.

I'm happy to change the postcode to something which will give the correct broadcast, but don't want to sit there trying different postcodes until I find one that works!

Anyone had a similar problem? Got any tips or suggestions to fix/correct it?

SD or HD content? You might find BBC HD is the 'London' feed (if there's any region-specific programming on it at all).

Sorry, I should have said... it's the SD content - BBC1.

Hm. There's an interesting article here which indicates that even postcodes which are close together get given different regional programming - you could pick a postcode from the BBC offices in Hereford or Worcester and see what you get!

Looks like I'm going to have to work my way through local postcodes until it comes up with the correct broadcast. Can't wait.

Well you should only need a couple - the one for the Malvern transmitter might be a starter!

Just a thought, but Freesat is via satellite is it not?

Yes, but if the Humax box thinks he is right where the terrestrial transmitter is, it might get his region right. That was my thinking anyway.......

Hi,

Have noted with interest some of the problems regarding set up of post code, as I am going to set mine up in Spain (do have a Spainish post code), has anyone done similar and any advice gratefully received.
