Humax Freesat PVR (foxsat-hdr)

I've found the upscaler in the TV (Pioneer 428XD Kuro) better than the Humax so I output 576i from the Humax and let the tv do the upscaling.

One thing I have noticed though that so far has gone unexplained, the picture from recorded SD is far superior to SD watched live. Why, I don't know as they should be the same but there's something at work here as there's a definite improvement to recorded content.

Alsone - You are lucky enough to own one of the best televisions with one of the best scalers around though! Wish Pioneer did a 46" version and I had the money! Scaler in the panny is pretty soft in my opinion. Question is, how much of a difference would I notice sending the Humax through the Onkyo to upscale to 1080p before sending to tele? Would standard def become more bearable?!
