How to connect paradigm sub 8 to my marantz pm6005

Yes, how do i connect my paradigm sub 8 to my new marantz pm6005.

And yes im a rookie/newbie that needs help 🙂

Don't the products have manuals with explanations? Googling PM6005 subwoofer also turns up a lot. Some of the threads referring to the PM6003 also apply to the PM6005.

In short, as far as I can tell, because the PM6005 doesn't have pre-outs or a sub out, you need a subwoofer with high level (speaker type) connections, but the sub 8 doesn't have this type of connection. I don't think the recording out on the back of the Marantz can be used because it is probably fixed level (i.e. the volume won't change as you change the volume of the amp so it won't be in balance with the music,etc.).

That said, I haven't looked at the Marantz manual so that may provide more information.

Could you maybe recommend a small but good sub that fits with the marantz pm6005?

Sorry I'm not in the uk so no idea what is available. I use a fostex cw200a. A good budget sealed cabinet sub made for music rather than movies but I don't think it is available outside of japan.

Does Mara in flat tone and without loudness

give good and deep bass at low vol, say under 9 o'clock h ?

i pair mine with Wharfedale diamond 121. would depend on your expectation of bass level. for mine even at 8-9 o'clock position i can feel the bass. most desirable will be closer to 10 o'clock position.

using source direct mode by the way.
