I would also say 2.0. My AV setup is 7.1 but 2.0 has always been enough for music.

I gather you meant music. It's stereo 2.0 for me, as it's been since I was 12, though for several years it's been through an integrated with A & B outputs.

As a survey researcher, I suggest you always need an "Other" response category, optionally with a fill-in space. These days I actually am spending a lot of time listening through a Lenovo Tab Plus tablet -my lowest-cost stereo solution yet. This marvel's 8-speaker package sounds amazing for a tablet that I move throughout my home during the day, playing back my FLAC files, and especially streaming my Amazon Music subscription's HD and ultra-HD selections. No, it doesn't compare to my stereo, but I've found it more satisfying than I expected, and handier and more flexible than wearing headphones for portability; plus, unlike my nice Bluetooth speaker, it's loaded with all the software I need, and the battery lasts and lasts.

Really depends on the day or what I'm doing; soundbars and wireless speakers never cross my threshold, if they do, I'll pour gasolene over them and drop a lighted match. 🙂

7:1 for movies, 2:1 (active speakers and active SW) in my study; 2:0 when I want to relax when I'm in the bedroom, 2:1 (passive) in the diner for backround noise when friends around and Headphones all the time but not always for music.

This evening im appreciating my speakers no wires no head phones the B & W s sound great even at low volume once the Amp warmed up or i warmed up 🤓
