How are the AKG K72 compared to the Audio Technica ATH-M40x?

Hello,

In my other post I just wrote that I am currently using Audio Technica ATH-M40x... well, the hinge just broke . Now I want a new pair. The M40x were my first studio headphones with neutral sound, and I really liked it. I am now looking for replacement, but the M40x are quite expensive for me to buy now. And I came across the AKG K72 for 49$ and they are rated 5-stars here on WHAT HI-FI?.. Do you think that if I liked the M40x I will also like the K72? Or you have any other suggestions? thanks!

There's a lot of rubbish on YouTube....
Best you audition for yourself as always, four to five star ratings in most places.

What about the cable noise they complain about when you touch the cable? Is it real or fake? My m40x didn't have that.

No idea, don't own them. Check out more reviews would be my advice if you cannot audition yourself.
