Ive just bought a pair of Mission MX1 speakers, and i was wondering what id need to connect them to my laptop..like seriously, imagine your talking to someone who knows nothing (and i dont know a thing)...so from the basics like what wires i would need, what convertors blah blah blah...i dont even know how to get them powered up, because they dont have a plug..

these were recommended by a friend, i thought theyd be simple computer speakers...so any help would be much appreciated..

No, they're not powered speakers so will need an amplifier to drive them. This means spending more money of course, which you probably weren't expecting...how much have you got?

Shopping list...

1 x Stereo Amplifier ( http://www.hyperfi.co.uk/onkyo-a9155-integrated-amplifier-p-577.html for example..)

1 x pair of speaker cables ( http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/page/moreinfo.cfm/Product_ID/363 is a good start ) - make sure you buy enough so that you can run the cables round any obstacles to where you want the speakers to be.

1 x 3.5mm to twin phono interconnect ( http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/page/moreinfo.cfm/Product_ID/4669 will do)

Any decent amp should have clear instructions of how to wire it all up, failing that a quick scout round you tube or last resort - ask a friend to come round and help :)

It's not brain surgery and once you've seen it done it should make a lot more sense!

Good Luck
