I am thinking of up grading my Panasonic BD30 to a higher
end blu ray player between £500 - £1000(denon 2500bt or sony 5000). I will be
using the bluray player mainly for bluray disc. My question is am I going to
see any PQ and sound improvement?

With the Sony, I definitely saw an improvement in the picture quality when I upgraded from the PS3.
