I was playing music through my valve amp when suddenly there was a loud bang and two of tubes had blown. The problem is the speaker on the left hand channel seems to be damaged from this and is now playing with a real muffled sound, is there anyway the speaker is repairable or has it completely had it. Speakers are MA/RS6.

Thanks

What valve amp, MA'S are a fair speaker to drive, iv'e had many a valve amp in the past with many a speaker and not had this problem you could have the amp on a wrong setting, ie 110 volts as opposed to 230 volts or the ohm tap could be set at 4, 8 or 16 depending on what amp you have, BE AWARE do not fiddle with the amp until it's powered down for at least a day, you probably know this but in case you dont there are high voltages in valve amps so proceed with caution the last thing we want is a forum member being electrocuted.
