Hi all, hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have just brought a harman kardon avr 171, I'm wanting to connect it to my tv/sky+hd box. This receiver does not support hdmi pass through on standby. I'm wanting to be able to continue to watch sky as I did before getting the receiver. Just using the tv for the audio. The problem I have is that with the sky connected to the avr and avr to the tv this is not possible. The avr needs to be on. Any help great fully appricated . Thanks in advance Jason

Depends on the box. Latest boxes have no rf. I use RF (aerial socket) when not using amp. The other way is hdmi from box to tv and use digital coax or optical from sky box to amp for sound

above is the easiest. I have my sky going to Hdmi 1 on TV and anything else going to amp plugged into Hdmi 2.

It was the only work around. Optical for 5.1 from hd sky box to amp
