HELP ME PLEASE. New AV Amp Advice

Hey All....

First Post on here, and was hoping for some advice.

I currently have a Yamaha DSP-A5. I have had it since 1999 or 2000. Its been a great little amp. I have loved it over the years, but now think its time to get into the HD Formats.

I have Monitor Audio RS6 Fronts, RSLCR Centre and a pair or RS1 for the rear. I am going to add another pair of RS1 or maybe the RSFX. Not decided on that bit yet. They are all hooked up with QED cables. I also have a REL sub, and, also have a sony 40inch 1080p LCD TC

I have around £500ish(maybe £600 just don't tell the other half that) to spend on a new AV Amp.

I have been looking at these:

Onkyo 606 or maybe the 875 as I have seen that for £599

Denon 1909 and 2309 and 2809

Yamaha 763 and 863

Sony DA2400ES and STR-DG820

At the moment my HD source is a PS3, But I am going to buy a dedicated Blu-Ray player at a later date. The new Amp is the most important thing right now.

I have been reading reviews and most of the amps are getting top marks. So unsure which will fit best into my set up.

So any advice on the above would be great. Anything else I sould be considering?

If you don't care about the upscaling Yamaha 763 would be a steal. 763 cinema performance is amazing. Also Onkyo 875 for 599 is an opportunity. Forget about 1909 and 606. All the other a/v's you mentioned well. 763 and 875 are my choice.

875 for £600? It's a no brainer. Jump on it before they sell out.

I agree I have the Onkyo 875 and it is a fantastic piece of kit 600 pounds is a bargain.

Thanks for the advice.

I was just about to go and buy the onkyo 875, but auditioned a Yamaha 763 yesterday at the local richersounds and it blew me away. I was so impressed with the sound I bought it. Plus I only paid £329.95 for it. Even at £599 for the Onkyo I am still almost £300 better off. So I can not go an buy the extra pair of rears....
