Really stuck between TH37px80b and Tx37lxd85 (both within my budget ).

We mostly watch motor racing and sky (SD). Basically looking for some advice as both so close with advantages/disadvantages.

Thanx

No contest in my opinion. The PX80 is the superior panel and fantastic with SD material.

Must admit i was swaying that way after reading all the good reviews about said plasma. Have just been a bit concerned about reliablity against lcd as people are always talking about screen burn & image retention on plasma. Would drive me nuts if i ended up with one of the many Sky logos embedded in screen.

Thanxs

Plasma - but go for a 42" if you can ... I've got used to mine within a month and wish I'd saved a bit more for 46" ... or 50" ... !!

He's right about shrinking screen syndrome and unless you physically can't fit one, I'd go for the bigger set.

Other makes can be bad but Panny and Pioneers are the best for resisting it.

Whats plasma like with gaming? I mean alot of games have static images on the hud, eg energy bars and maps etc. I know itl be ok for a couple of hours but my mates and i sometimes have long sessions, especially as gears of war 2 is just around the corner? I dont want a permenant Lancer inprinted on my screen :|

Games feature heavily in my house hold(all 3 current machines) and have been stuck into a few serious Gears sesions myself and never any problems, yes you may get a slight image issue after a 4 hour sesion on gears of the HUD but this will clear very quickly and is in no way perminant.
