Stick with the 37 mate! If you go smaller you'll only think "damn! should have got a bigger one!"

Besides, the px80's a better set and from personal experience, dont buy Sony!!!

I assume you mean the guide in WHF about what size TV you should have for your viewing distance. This is really just a guide and many people here have larger TVs than they should according to that guide (myself included). According to this guide, the minimum distance for the TH-37PX80 is 2.46m so you are only just under this at 2m - not enough to worry about in my opinion.
If you're really worried, find out the specs of the TV from the Panasonic website and cut out a piece of cardboard or paper this size and stick it to the wall and then see what you think. Remember, the screen will obviously be smaller than the full size of the TV!

Get 37 at least! I got a 37 inch last year, now it seems far too small, especially for gaming. I'm looking for at least a 42 now.

I've just bought two of these, one of which is in my kitchen and I sit 2.1 metres away.

It's great!

The picture is brilliant and not overpowering at all.

My wife was concerned too but she loves it.

Stick with it - you'll be glad you did.

No, you most certainly have not.

Buyers remorse grips us all.......enjoy the PX80 and try not to worry when in 3 months you think it's a little small

I second everyone who say's that you'll be fine with the 37" TV.

A number of years ago I allowed my Girlfriend to sway my buying decision and bought a 32" CRT (as oppose to a 37") the minute it was installed she decided that we would have had space for the bigger set.

Now you'd think I'd learn from this experience; I wanted to purchase a 40-42" LCD but in the end opted for a 37" again when we got it delivered we had plenty space to accommodate the bigger sccreen.

I remember measuring both sets when I got the LCD and found that the diagonal size of both was fairly similar. The LCD was obviously slimmer and the screen was larger but corner to corner both came in at around the 40" mark.

My advise is always to size up, if you think you need a 32" go for a 37" and you won't be disapointed.

Just to re-enforce what seems to be the consensus here. I bought a 32" around 12 months ago based upon the viewing distance chart in the mag. I have to say it was a serious blunder which has frustrated me ever since. I'm hoping that prices continue to fall after Christmas so that I'll be able to justify (!?) moving up to a 40".
