Free hi-end speakers

Well, nearly.

I am having a bit of a sort out and I have a pair of early Red Rose Rosebud speakers that are surplus to requirements.

These are Mk 1 models finished in french sycamore, they are a compact ribbon hybrid design that sold out of the Red Rose shop in New York for a fairly substantial $3000. They are fine speakers and deserve a good system, I would like them to go to someone who appreciates them. They look identical to these...

I am not asking money for these as that would be against forum rules but co-incidentally I am on the lookout for a decent Dac/headphone amplifier should anyone have one surplus to their requirements

Many thanks. Assume Mark 1 has a similar 87dB, pity I don't have a DAC to trade only a portable one.

Nice. I was wondering if it would be possible to drive something like them with my 25 watt amp. They have the same sensitivity as my floorstanders so I guess it's possible.

Not sure Dave, it has limited inputs but serves me well on the road. ;-)

If you search this thread http://www.head-fi.org/t/755879/oppo-ha-2-portable-headphone-amplifier-dac-discussion-thread using the keywords Macbook Pro, there are several posters mentioning that they use their Macbook Pro to drive the Oppo. I don't know if the age of the Macbook, or the OS affects the functionality.
