Likewise, but patience is a virtue......little to soon to panic - Im sure I read it would be 28 days ?

Dont think that has elapsed yet.

Just to clarify, the subs offer page states: "Please allow 35 days for delivery of your gift and first issue. The gift will be sent under separate cover from the magazine."

Clare Newsome:
I've been pestering our subs team for news - this just in:

"Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are currently in the
process of moving our promotional stock to a new warehouse which may
have delayed the delivery of your free gift. Unfortunately we are
unable to respond to individual subscription queries on the forum but
please contact our customer service team on 08456 777 813 or email
whathifi@servicehelpline.co.uk for an update."

Incredibly frustrating, I know (we work damn hard getting the mag out, and sourcing great gifts, and want you to enjoy them)

I'll keep chasing for updates....

Hi Clare, emailed them on 28th but no response yet, have sent another from a different email address just in case. Fingers crossed!

**UPDATE, Just had confirmation email from them that they will be back in touch within 3 days.

Hi Claire..

I'm unfortunately in the same boat as many here by the looks of it
emotion-6.gif

I did exactly as JTD did and subscribed for the mag for the new Chord HDMI cable on the very day it came through the door on the 15th of August. My current subscription was due to be renewed anyway. I Got confirmation email saying I'll be receiving the new subscription and the new Chord cable. Never got it. Infact I've not got anything. So I phoned up Haymarket a couple of weeks ago and they said firstly that for some reason it looks like someone there had mistakenly canceled my subscription!! they've put that right now..but I obviously complained and said that they need to send me the cable as I was most likely one of the first to take up the offer as I did it on the very day it came through the door. Even before it was in the shops. They then went away and came back a few moments later to say that it looks like a HDMI cable was labelled up to be sent out to me and that it may be delayed because of the postal strikes. hmmm..ok so they said to wait a couple of weeks for it. well the 2 weeks are now up and i've not got anything. really not happy
emotion-12.gif

I actually told someone else about the offer and they applied on the 18th of august. They got the Chord mains cable instead like JTD did. Did anyone get the HDMI cable?!!

Can you please forward this on to Haymarket for me please? I'm going to contact them again but I don't have much confidence in getting anywhere. As far as I'm concerned I've got a confirmation email here telling me that I've got a Chord HDMI Active cable coming to me. There's no way they would have run out of the cable when they got my order. Not possible.

It's possible it is still snarled up in the mail - my wife is waiting for a subs gift from another publishing company on a subscription she took out on August 2, and that was apparently mailed out a month ago.

But could you send us an email to the usual address with your name, postal address and if you have it your subscription/order number, and we'll get the redoutable Angelina on the case Monday morning.

Thanks, and apologies.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your reply. I guess it's not impossible that it's in the postal system.. i just don't have much confidence that i'll receive it. The fact that they said to me initially that the subscription was mistakenly put on hold by them concerns me some what.
Anyway I'll email you the details now.

Thanks again.

Had a response back earlier today....

------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for your recent email regarding What Hi-Fi magazine.
Firstly please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused
as a result of non receipt of your free gift. Due to the popularity of the offers some items have been delayed beyond
the 28 day timeframe. Rest assured we are making every effort to
despatch your free gift as soon as possible, and thank you for your
continued patience. In the meantime if I can be of any further assistance then please do not hesitate to contact me. ------------------------------------------------------ Fingers crossed, sounded positive to me

Sorry to hear that - have you contacted the subs team? I've had a few mails from them this week, and between the warehouse move and the continuing postal strikes, they're getting there!

A reminder from earlier in the thread:

No, not yet, I haven't given it any thought until now to be honest as I couldn't remember when I'd subscribed. If I don't get anything this week I'll drop them a line.

We've just had this general missive from our subscriptions team, FYI:

POSTAL STRIKE - IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The recent unofficial strike actions by postal workers
across the country has led to widespread disruption to deliveries over the last
few weeks (it is estimated that over 10million pieces of mail are currently
delayed); you may have received one or more of your subscription copies/gifts later
than usual.

As a result, the volume of calls and emails in to our
customer service team has been significantly larger than usual. We have drafted
in additional staff to deal with this increase in demand and the backlog of
enquiries - please be assured that your query is important to us and we will
strive to address it as quickly as possible.

As you may have seen in the press, Royal Mail workers have
now voted in favour of official strike action, which will inevitably cause
further significant delays to deliveries.
We are currently reviewing the alternative options available to us and
will attempt to keep disruption to a minimum.

Thank you for your patience.
