Hi guys,

Just bought one of these, but have noticed a very audible hum coming from speakers when set up and turned on. The turntable doesn't have a ground socket on it. Ive tried using different interconnects but the hum remains.

Is this normal, or have I got a faulty unit. Thinking of exchanging it for a project essential 2 USB as this does have a ground socket on it,should that tt also emit a hum.

Thanks for any advice,

Paul.

Not really normal but has been a problem on some cheaper TTs. This appears to be made by Rega, they don't have an earth ground cable from the TT, believe it just goes into arm base. Can be worse with certain cartridges. If it hums I would take it back.

Ditto. It may be cheap but there is no excuse for what is essentially a design fault even at these prices.
