First picture of Bowers & Wilkins Series 800 D4

Did B&W just share the very first image of the Series 800 D4 or could this be a different speaker? It's certainly not one from the current 800 D3 or 700 D2 range, and it doesn't look like a car speaker system either.

This is absolutely not the D3, it doesn't even look close to it. The top of the 804 D3 is curved, not flat, and the speaker itself isn't nearly that round.

The tweeter looks completely different to the Formation Duo, let alone that it's not available in glossy black. Could be a new high-end formation speaker of course.

I saw the New 800 today and they are great. They are a little bit rounder and more expensive.
The names are 801d4 until 805d4. Centers are htm81 and htm82.

Funnily enough the top model is called 801 now. So maybe they’re leaving 800 for some show-stopping super edition, or maybe it’s a studio version to come?

If I recall correctly, the outgoing series, when launched, the top model came last…

Still no mention of subwoofers…despairing at the most likely outcome they are the same boring square boxes with no manual controls; as they left the 805D4 Stand much the same which doesn’t match the rest of the Series rounded bases…

I’ve coveted the 800 series for years, but am I the only one who prefers the look of the D3?

I’m not so keen on the metal plate on the top. With the rosewood and light wood finish it looks a bit jarring and clinical (at least in the pictures)
