first hifi advice, tight budget

Hi I have just been given a Numark TT1650 deck and tried to connect to my Cambridge Audio amp but does not seem to work, I can hear sound from stylus but not thru amp to speakers? Any advice on what I should check, have tried alternative leads but no difference.

Which amplifier did you get in the end? The problem is almost certainly the lack of a 'phono' oinput.
