ellhead:Any more suggestions? maby not so mainstream makes?
Does anyone have any suggestions or the bottom end of my budget or lower?
You could try auditioning the Alesis RA150. The two independant volume dials can act as balance control, useful in your tiny room. So if one speaker is in the corner and the other against the wall, you can still achieve a decent soundstage.

Later on, if you move to a larger room, you can buy a second amp and use both in 'bridged mono' mode - one amp per speaker.

Grimly Fiendish:I have a Sony TAFE370 that I used in a second system. It has a decent phono stage and is awesome for the money.

Don't get this one I've got one and it's as dull and budget as hi-fi comes.

I'm looking at a Marantz 7200 or a KI signature pm66se and I'm not considering anything else unless my budget someday soon becomes £300 in which case I will choose pm6003 or rotel ra-04se which my local hifi store have on offer.
