hi m8,

how are you getting on with youre hk3380, i paired my hk3490 up with a hd890 cdp and it did not sound right, so i went back to a nad cdp, i had the hd890 connected up to the amp with a digital lead, after a while i decided to give the hd890 another go and connected them with a new high silver breed ic and put apair of new q accoustic 2020 speakers on dedicated stands, the sound was terrible, but i percivied for a couple of weeks with them. now the hd980 sounds better than the nad, which now seems a little bassy, the silver high breeds will be changed, not keen on them, the q speakers are sounding better by the day, but the stands look very agricultural to me,any ic suggestions will be appreciated,the speaker cable is chord siverscreen, also unsure about that, any way if you get chance, try and listen to a hk cdp with youre hk amp, you just might be suprised.

actually i havent tried cd on it.never even tried connecting it to the dvd player.just use radio.have tried the pc connected via rca and it sounded good.I kind of like it .for regulations I have bass on 10,30 hours and treble on 11 hours.

did you always had it with the 2020?

no, i had a pair of tannoy mercury f1 customs, i have also tried a wd media player plyer connected via optical to the amp and that souded very good indeed

the mercyurys are a bit more balancesd than the 2020 i guess.dont you find the 2020 a bit bright?

yeah a tad bright, but i put that down to the ic and possibly the speaker cable
