Put whatever the cost of the extended warranty may be into a savings account or ISA or something, then you'll have the money available should anything go wrong after the standard warranty has expired, and if nothing goes wrong you've some savings toward something new in the future.

Or buy from somewhere offering a five-year warranty as standard
