Hello all, I have recently purchased a 8000PX power amp to use with my 8000A. As far as I am aware, you need to internally separate the pre/power sections internally to make use of them individually on the 8000a . However, IAG have informed me that I don't need to do this on my MK3 Issue 8 PCB.

Has anyone got experience with this particular model, I don't want to plug it in and damage components if it will remain in integrated mode. It's's a 'B' serial number.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Zeeman92
I have an 8000S / 8000SX combination which I run bi-amped and did not need to do anything special other than set the front switch to pre-power and run connect the 8000S pre-amp output to the 8000SX rca inputs...

Hope this helps

Michael

Thanks Michael, unfortunately the 8000a was the most basic of the run and didn't have this option. But I've been told that unless I want to use the power section of the amp (which I don't) then I don't need to separate the pre from the power section so was able to plug the RCAs in a off I went.

Do you find your Audiolabs run rather hot? If so, other than ventilation, do you have anything further extracting the heat?

Hi Zeeman92
It gets warm after a little while but I would never say it gets hot...I use an old Target TT4 hi-fi stand for my kit so everything has it's own shelf

Kind Regards
Michael
