Dolby Digital Connection for Sky HD

Hi guys, can anyone tell me if I can dump my optical cable to get Dolby Digital on my Sky HD box and just use the HDMI connection from the Sky box to my Amp?

No, sorry.

The SKY HD box cannot transmit Dolby Digital via HDMI.

no i'm affraid, sky only outputs stereo via hdmi
