Does Onkyo 875 have video pass-though when switched off?

Bit like how videos work.

Assuming you plug a video+audio source into the amp via HDMI, and the TV is plugged into the out HDMI, does the signal pass through if the amp is powered off (ie nay juice) or in standby mode (plugged in but not turned on)?

I know you won't get any upscaling etc etc, but wondered if the signal will still pass through unaltered so you can watch a DVD without the amp needing to be switched on (come on, who needs Auf Wiedersehen Pet with the amp on).

Cheers.

Just tried it with my 905 (which I'm guessing would be the same as the 875 in this function) and the answer is nay I'm afraid, not even in Standby mode. Unless of course there's some special setting buried away to allow it, but I haven't seen one on my travels so far.
But then, with an amp this good, why would you not have it switched on?! I don't watch anything through the TV speakers since I got it!

Yep to everything the Prof said.

No passthrough on my 875.
I use the 875 for everything. TV speakers are permanently off. (Even if you're not sold on the benefits of PL2 or Neo 6, the sound quality is far and away better than any TV can muster.)
