Apologies for the previous 2 posts - my message posted twice and incomplete!

I'm thinking of buying a Denon mini hifi system with CD player and USB port for an iPod/MP3 player (RCDM38DAB). I'd just like to know whether my iPod will charge at the same time it is playing when plugged into the USB port.

Thanks!

For a definitive answer contact Denon support,

http://www.denon.co.uk/uk/pages/home.aspx

Having looked at the user manual I would say yes it will as the front USB socket is marked as 5 volt 1 amp which to me means it can support that current draw and so conforms to a normal USB standard and would charge not just an iPOD but also be OK with say an external USB HDD and so on.

Well I know I replied to this earlier today... a detailed reply to so I have no idea why it 'aint showing now :)

The quick answer is yes, it should charge the iPod as the USB port is capable of supplying 5 volts at 1 amp just like one on a PC.
