I've recently acquired a new Ipod Touch from Santa and after spending hours transferrring my music, videos and apps from my old 1st generation Ipod Touch I'm finding it impossible to dock it with anything I have. The problem is that when I play music on it with no earphones connected it just plays the music through it's own internal speaker and not the docking station. I never had such a problem with my first Ipod Touch as it didn't have a built in speaker.

I have the following docking stations and have tried them all to no avail:

Bose Portable Sound Dock

Pure Avanti Flow DAB Radio/Ipod Docking Station

Griffin Roadrip FM Transmitter car docking station

Is there a setting I can disable on the Ipod which will disable the internal speaker and play the music through these docking stations instead?.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

My iPhone did this.

Tried it the next day and it was fine. Not sure why though so no real help I am afraid.

Maybe connect it back to iTunes and then try it again??

I realise this was a few years ago, but did you ever successfully resolve this? I have a new iTouch and it won't play through my docking station, only through its tinny built-in speaker - any advice?
