Do they all sing the same tuner?

I have an ancient FM tuner which could clap out anytime. My question is: Everyone impresses the important of synergy with each component, however every review I have read about tuners and turntables I can't remember any references about bright or very controlled sounding tuners. Does this mean that most tuners and decks have pretty much the same sonic trait? Your thoughts appreciated Cheers.
