Hi' Guys.
Is the above dvd player as good as or better then Pioneer LX50 and Marantz DV7001 picture wise?.
Is it still worth getting a expensive dvd player for around £700 like the Yamaha 2700 and Denon 3930.

Hi burhan,

The Toshiba is undoubtedly a very capable budget DVD player, but higher-end models like the Pioneer and Marantz still better. However, we're becoming more and more impressed with the DVD performance of Blu-ray players, and in fact, if I had £250+ to spend on a disc-spinner, it'd be a Blu-ray player that I'd get. If you're tempted to go down this route, it might be worth hanging on until our Awards issue, as we're expecting a couple of new machines between now and then.
