Hello all,

I am trying to put together a small and budget friendly stereo setup and settled on the Dali Oberon 1 and Cambridge Audio AXA25 (25 Watts). The Oberon 1 because I like the sound and the AXA25 +AXN10 because of the small (low) footprint, descrete looks and price.

The manual of the AXA25 sais to only connect 8 Ohm speakers and 6 or 4 Ohm speakers could damage the amp. The Dali's are 6 Ohm speakers. Could this really damage the amp or will it work just fine?

I am planning to us this system for low (background music) to moderate listening levels (listening sessions), never loud.

The AXA35 is not an option because I dont need any of the added features and I dont like the look because of the small screen.

Regards

You'll be fine with those speakers unless you intend to play at disco levels of volume.

Forgot to add that I would agree that 25wpc is somewhat poor in a modern amplifier that is probably going to be used with cheap inefficient standmount speakers.
What are you going to be using for a source of music?
I agree. I will be using Spotify and internetradio mainly.

Maybe I should look at Nad c316bee v2 which is about the same height and find myself a decent streamer.

I also like the Denon rcd n12 as an all in one.

Can’t decide!

Why the Denon if you don't need a CD player?
Think you really need to re-evaluate your priorities.
.....and do a lot more research
My priorities are clear, Spotify Connect and internetradio in a discrete package, suitable to drive the Oberon 1's. The Denon does all that so I consider it an option. For the local price of ~€475 I don't think unused features like a cd player and HDMI makes it any less suitable.

I still like the idea of a seperate amp and streamer better but I will pass on the AXA25.. the 25wpc concerns me to much. I will do some more research on other options, thank you.

If you can budget for it the Rotel A11 at £399 might be a better bet.
Rotel amps always have good current delivery and it's 50 wpc
It is quite slim.
