Hi, My Cyrus DAD7 cd player has finally packed up after over 10 years of great service...... Cyrus no longer have parts in stock. However, Cyrus have offered me a trade in on the CD6Se.......they are offering me one in classic black, for £479.

I would like to know if you think it will sound much better than my DAD7...... And have Cyrus sorted out the problems with the SE players ?

My system is an ACA7 pre amp,2x Power amps/PSX-R,s (monobloc) B+W CDM1 NT speakers

To be honest I think that is a really great deal considering that your DAD7 is effectively dead and cannot be fixed and could probably only be sold for spares. I am guessing that the classic black is the smooth black rather then the new brushed black finish but at least it should match other older Cyrus gear.

Cheers for the reply.... it does seem a good deal as i can no longer afford £1000+ for a CD player these days, and it is the smooth black finish (which i think cyrus charge an extra £50 for... but are not charging me)...... just hope they have ironed out the problems of not playing certain discs.

Yes it does seem a fare deal from Cyrus...... just have to wait for it to be made, as they no longer make it in smooth black.

Well finally recieved my CYRUS CD6SE today, and im starting the 3 day burn in period.

It has taken Cyrus, nearly 4 months to send this trade in CD player, which Cyrus offered me as a replacement, for my DAD7 which was beyond repair.

But i cant grumble...... i now have a brand new CD 6SE, in classic black (smooth).... for £479 (not including postage)...... which i think is a pretty good price..... and i must say, it sounded pretty good straight from the box !

Thanx for a great deal Cyrus
