Cyrus CD set up - which one ?

Am close to purchasing Cyrus CD set-up. Looking for the best possible combination for around 3k that will give the best possible sound... I was thinking of the option 3 (below) - but not sure if the CDXT SE(the best Cyrus CD) will benifit from the Cyrus 8 QX DAC. Also will the Pre Xd pre-amplifer be better suited then the 8 QX DAC for sound quality, though the 8QX DAC is priced higher then the highest Pre-Amp ?...I will get decent speakers later, I just have okayish ones for now, but need a good system that can produce great sound now!

IMHO the option using the Pre and Power amp will give the best SQ. If you can get an X power then that will up your SQ. If you are prepared to go second hand then a pair of Mono X's can be had for £1000 to £1200 and good deal better than the stereo power amps.

All of your selections will sound very good you really need to listen to them for yourself. Matching speakers will probably make the biggest difference. I suggest Spendor or Vienna Acoustics.

Cheers - can the Pre Xdp Qx (the highest in the pre-amplifer Cyrus range) handle Mono X's (200watts) ? Thanks

Not everyone likes the Cyrus sound!

Yes the Pre XPdQX can handle the all the Mono X's porobably better to use the DAC XP+ as your pre amp...this is going to cost you considerably more than £3K.

If you are going to spend a fortune then you really need to listen lots of different set ups.

I was hoping to go for the DAC XP+ but that would have killed all hope for anything else with 3k as that's 2.5k on its own
