Description

PMC cor Integrated Amplifier

The PMC cor Integrated Amplifier is available for demonstration in our Hull store soon.

PMC have unveiled their first domestic Integrated Amplifier, the cor, at the Munich high end show 2017. Exact updates on price and release dates are yet to be confirmed, but as soon as we know we'll update you all.

For more information about the PMC cor Integrated Amplifier call us on 01482 223096 or emailshop@fanthorpes.co.uk

Designed to match the same ethos for high resolution playback as used in all PMC’s loudspeakers, namely musicality, transparency and neutrality, where nothing is added and nothing is taken away. The role of the amplifier, like the speakers, is to reproduce the music exactly as it is meant to be heard.

Designed and hand-built by PMC in the UK, the cor, meaning heart, is an integrated amplifier that works entirely in the analogue domain.

The PMC cor Amplifier comes equipped with four RCA analogue inputs alongside one pair of balanced XLR inputs. The cor integrated does not feature any digital inputs and PMC say that it is an unashamedly analogue amplifier for the purist.

All the components were specified without compromise after extensive listening tests, including the black PCBs and the volume control, which, together with the tone and balance faders, are motorised using technology from professional mixing consoles, and are remote controllable. This provides flexibility to achieve the perfect sound on every track, without moving from your armchair. Hear all the magic of music, with the cor integrated amplifier

Yeah.i've already read all that Andrew but no price was evident . I'm just a pmc fanboy.lol.

I thought you were naim fanboy.

Signal to noise ratio is not very good either.

I'm amazed they are making an amp at all. After all, they import Bryston who make pretty serious amps, amongst other things like DACs, CD players and streamers. And earlier this year PMC began importing AVM, a fairly lavish German range, a bit more like a stylish version of Naim unitis.

And if it's really five grand it'll need to sound bloody amazing. At least ATC's integrated amp looks like a proper amplifier, not a toy - and it's twice the power (and 20kg).

I like the name best. I'm looking forward to the Blimey media player!

I was just looking at the UPS site, tracking a preowned ATC integrated I snatched to match my SCM11s...23kg shipping weight...and it's going to be delivered at my workplace, bloody hell!

5 grand is a lot for those specs. Well, they said AROUND 5k (£4,999?)...

I reckon they've put themselves out the game before they've even started with pricing like that.....it's very very ambitious (in a bad way).oh and did I mention it still looks like a ps2......those sliding tone controls (that apparently can be remotely controlled)look interesting though.

Brilliant choice! I thought it was superb when I used one for my two extended speaker auditions recently. I'd never really looked closely at ATC electronics but was very impressed. There was one on eBay recently that sold within an hour - was that you by any chance?

I bought mine from a well known British 2nd hand shop. I email them before they had the chance to put it on ebay. I'll have it next monday 😀

Recently I lost one from a Spanish shop (and it was quite a bargain), so I had to grab this one!

Cheers nopiano 🙂 I will, yes.

Pray, in due time share your thoughts on your brand spanking new speakers too. You must be eager to get them I imagine!

More often than not, it's usually the ugly stuff that sounds the best...

I don't mind the looks, but then, I always liked the look of the PS2 🙂

At this stage, we don't know what it sounds like. We know there's many amplifiers (and other products) out there that don't measure particularly well, but sound great. Maybe this could be the perfect match for PMC owners? (you'd sort of hope so!)

I personally don't think this has anything to do with Bryston. I think PMC have made a smart move looking at product like AVM which is flexible and modular, rather than holding fast with a brand that still produces one box for one job. It's commendable Bryston still do that, and I think for the ultimate system it is still feasible, but not what most people want nowadays. Several brands and products over the past 5 years or so have shown us that flexibility needn't affect sound quality.
