yes i know shared mp3 from internet is not the audiophile way but sometimes i like to ' audition ' them few months before purchasing from itunes.

can you guys recommend me which options the best for downloading and converting shared mp3 ( youtube, mp3skull, 4shared tec. ) because

i heard converting a low rate mp3 to hi rate only worsen quality.

lets say i want like to download a 256 mp3 file from mp3skull, which options is appropriate? 128 or 256 or 320? what format? aac or ogg or mp3?

Where possible download and playback the files in its native format, however if you wish to convert then make sure you convert it into a lossless format.

There are many YouTube download programs out there (Most Free) so just do a quick google search and pick one you like. (Always choose custom installation so that you can stop any other programs being installed with it)

Hope this helps

Thanks for the replies. I went for the 4kdownloader at the moment.

Just curious about the settings. There are options to convert to 128 / 256 / 320kbps & mp3 / ogg / mpeg4 formats.

Does this mean if I wanted to download say a 256kbps audio file then the setting should be 256? not 320?

and if its a 128 = 128, 320 = 320. Is this correct? What about the format?

Anything rather than actually paying for music, eh?

I'm surprised discussions such as this, which are openly advocating methods of pirating music, are allowed here. Can we have one on the best ways to steal smartphones next, please?

Running up behind the owner, happy slapping the back ot their head, then making a grab for the phone and dashing off seems to work well.

yes, grandpas. this is how we teens do it. we ''sample'' before deciding to purchase the real stuff. i'm sure if internet was here 50 years ago you would do the same. geez, you oldies never experiment music at teenage years and started hi fi at age what, 50?

pirates? i typed taylor swift full album on youtube and its there for all to share and i don't see the website going down.

oh yeah, and theres lots of legal music sites that gives free music, you mad, haters?

Ah the "you're too old you don't understand us" card. I often played the same card when I was your age but it took me another 10-15 years to realise how much of a EDITED it made me look. It's like sex. Every teenager thinks they invented it.

Just to clarify a point from your opening post, converting from a low rate to high rate won't worsen quality but it can't improve it either. Obviously.

Actually, I do rather mind your English, or at least the mauling you're giving it. Or is that what young people do today?

(Returns to mad haters' tea party)
