Control Apps becoming more and more important?

Hello, I think Marantz (Denon) make some great products but their control app is rubbish when compared to manufactures like Pioneer, Cambridge Audio, Naim and Linn. Cyrus made a mistake developing a smart remote control and are now releasing a new control app.

Does anyone know if Marantz are developing an update or new app?

I have been asking whf to review and roundup various control systems since abt 2 y ago. With the proliferation of apps etc maybe it is a good time do so?

user interface and control imo are a major part of any consumer system and can make or break the experience and is something that should be considered before buing any system, not after. So a roundup and review would be very useful.

My Marantz SR7007 is a joy to use but i use the remote control. The functions are superb and I have had no problems with networking or connecting any devices. However my Linn DS is just so much cooler and seems more 2013 than 1983 even though the Marantz has more functions and easier to set up over a network.
