Hi to all of you,

I just bought a recordplayer with van den Hul cables, but I have one problem..... the connectors at the end are not the normal RCA plugs..... they look like mini XLR (10mm) and you have to screw it on to something. My guess and hope would be to some sort of adaptor to RCA, in order to connect it to any amplifier.

As I cannot upload here any picture, it will be difficult, but I hope a link to another forum with my pictures is allowed here

http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=151772

Hope that anybody can help me... On the pictures they are the two on the right! Would like to keep my balanced cables on, without cutting them in order to be able to add "standard" RCA Plugs

Thanks beforehand for any help.

Hi Valentinemale

Firstly rule 4 states
"4) Posts and user profiles must not include links to inappropriate material -which includes pornographic or offensive images or information, but also competitive sites."

Not my decision whether you have broken it or not, but thought it best to warn you.

Secondly, you have to register with the site to see the picture, not sure if anyone here will do that to help you.

What make and model of turntable is it?

Chill Gwyndy! In any case - "it's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission"..!

Edit: Unfortunately, unlike Gwyndy I have nothing useful or helpful to offer in this post. Sorry.

Could be a DIN socket - my original Creek 4040 (and Naim until very recently) had them instead of phono connectors, though not for the phono stage if I recall. Look anything like this?

If so, you're probably as well going out and buying a normal interconnect and selling the VdH on eBay - an adapter (if such a thing exists that way round - phono plugs into DIN socket is easy to find) and the connections you're making will make it not worth hanging onto, prob'ly.

Yes, please don't link to other forums.

Anyway, question seems to be answered there, but when I tried to log in to look at the pictures to check the site fell over repeatedly, so still haven't seen pictures.

What is the make and model of the turntable?

Me I'm always chilled, blooming freezing in Wales. The message was intended to advise him so that he didn't get his thread deleted and then get no answer.

on a more positive note,
http://www.mouser.com/amphenol-tuchel/
should list the connector
