Hi, I've got a Cambridge Audio A1 Mk3 Amp and a couple of Gale Gold Mk2 speakers which is used mainly for my record turntable. I know you can connect home theatre systems to the tv Audio Out connections but could I connect the amp and speakers above to the TV. Would it give any improvements to the sound?

Yes, you can connect the line audio left/right outputs of the TV to any line input on your amp, and yes, it will sound a lot better than the built-in speakers, even given all their wOOxery.
