Hi,
I have just received some new AudioQuest Rocket 11 speaker cable and am in the process of terminating the ends to connect it to my hi-fi system (Spendor A7 speakers and Cyrus8XP amp).

The speakers have a single black and red input.

Silly questions... but I assume the attached photo is the correct way to terminate these ends?

Also, what is the purpose of the black rubber strips running alongside each wire? I assume these are just some form of insulation that should be cut?

Thanks!

I'm curious on how this went? I accidentally ordered some bi-wire cables for my vintage, single-input speakers and planned on doing something similar. It seems like a no-brainer, but I am an audiophile newb, and I made the mistake of googling the issue.... hard to get a simple answer. :)
