Connect PC to Yamaha DSP-AX763

Hi guys.

Is it possible to connect my dell inspiron (with hdmi output) to my amp.

Tried disconnecting my panny blue disc player and connecting the lead into my laptop. Could not get a picture or sound. Selected 3 on the amp which should be TV viewing, but nothing.

Can anyone help?

Hi

I am guessing your problem may lie on the laptop side of things. On my laptop when conencting via hdmi I have to right click on my desktop, go into the graphics properties and make sure the primary display output is set to the hdmi one otherwise the hdmi connection is not engaged.

The Yamaha has two hdmi ports. Does it matter which one i use?

No. I have this amplifier and I connect my Compaq to it via hdmi with no probs.
