Comparison Please

Hi all,

Has anyone done a thorough comparison between Sony KDL-40W4500 and Panasonic TH-42PZ800

with respect to all these 4 inputs.......

(1) Bluray (2) DVD (3) Standard Def (4) Hi-Def

I couldn't find any dealer - who could do this for me.....and help me decide.

We did that very side-by-side comparison when Awards judging.

As i've said here before, both are excellent sets anyone would be happy with. The Panasonic pips the Sony for the quality of its Freeview tuner, while the Sony is better with DVD and Blu-ray, and generally has superior colour-handling than the Pana. They're on a par for motion-handling.

We felt the Sony just edged the Panasonic out because it won out in more of these areas - but if, for example, you're intending to use the TV's tuner for the majority of your viewing, you may feel the Pana is better for you.
