Coax OK, Digital nothing

Hi - I've got a Panasonic SC-HT 15 home cinema system, which gives perfect 5.1 when plugged into my Sky+ HD box via the coax digital input. However, I get nothing when using the optical digital inputs (have tried both) when fed from any of my Sky box, Panasonic TV or PS3. Have set all the options where necessary on both input and output boxes What am I doing wrong??? Is it just broke or is it me?

I am not familiar with your system. Does it prioritise coax over optical? Check the menu settings. What do you have to do to select the optical inputs? Did they work before?

Edit - Just downloaded the manual. Have you assigned the inputs to your relevant source? Also, long shot but do you have more than one optical cable to try?

Inputs assigned as per manual - two cables tried, one brand new. Coax has always worked (used to have it hooked up to a PC sound card) - Optical has never done anything on either input. Logically, it should work - it just doesn't - v. infuriating - have also asked Panasonic but no reply (yet). Thanks for looking d4v3pum4. The next stop is to buy an optical to coax converter and see if that works - at least that way I should be able to plumb both PS3 and Sky+ through the TV with HDMI and have a single optical source from the TV into the coax in on the AV receiver. Hmmm!
