CD Player to match or better DVD-S2700

In trying to judge where the Yamaha DVD-S2700 DVD Player fits as an Audio CD Player, can anyone tell me what CD Players would be equivalent or might sound better ?

Such as Marantz CD63 Mkii Ki Signature, Marantz cd6002, Marantz cd8003, NAD C525, NAD C542, Roksan Kandy Mk3.

Probably all of them in varying degrees of "betternerss". The CD8003 and Kandy would probably lick it, or should do given the cost of them as dedicated players (circa £500-700), likewise the NAD 542 and Marantz CD6002. The ancient CD63 Mk2 KI probably would do too, and likewise the C525.

In short, have a listen to them all and compare.
