Hi, your Castle Severn 2 are audiophile speakers for hi guality amp and source into small to mid room around 20 m². It is not speaker designed for home theater or for big bass. As for hifi, it deserves realy good amp, even small tube integrated like Copland 405 or Audiomat Arpege is not wasting of money here. For home cinema, big bass I recommend to look elsewhere. Combo with one or two subwoofers (one per chanell) will also work. I use my system with two active Velodyne SPL subs with my main speakers for some 22-23 years. No problem with them. My first speaker/subwoofer combo was with Leedh Flirt speakers. Leedh have some similarities with your Castle speakers. Castle are more musical, Leedh an absolute acoustic microscope...but worked very good with class A tube amps and two Velodyne subs for bass. I have used active crossovers some 20 years ago😂. And my source was mainly turntable Rega and CEC CD player.

Amp and speakers are both good, and a good match. The issue is are they the right combination for you? You wouldn't buy a spots car for off road driving. Same principle. if you want lots of bass you need a different setup, or modify the one you have. A sub may do the job. It depends on the connections on the sub as to how best to wire it up.

I think you are used to hearing too much bass with your AV setup and your car. As for the sound emanating between the speakers welcome to real hifi.

What do you value most, clarity or bass?

The "band between the speakers" is the soundstage. The better your equipment, and the better positioned your speakers are, the better you will hear it.

Listening to a really good live recording particularly Jazz or Classical, you will be able to pick out where on stage or within the orchestra some of the sounds are coming from.

If you get your positioning spot on the Castles have an excellent Soundstage.

I don't think one is exclusive of the other both can co-exist in a well balanced system. The system you have is a good'un. Re-positioning your speakers may give you the desired outcome.
If you still feel the bass is little shy consider adding a subwoofer.
How would i ? Connect sub to existing speaker output excuse the ignorance new to hi fi trying to replicate the meridion in the car lol

You are never going to replicate your car stereo, it's a totally different environment. You can add a sub, I personally have never felt the need for one in my domestic system. With a car you are basically sitting inside a speaker, totally different to what you have in your bedroom setup.

There are multiple ways depending on the inputs/outputs on the amp and sub.

You don't have a sub out or an output for a second set of speakers. However, depending on the sub you can use the regular speaker outputs, or the tape loop.

If you are unsure when you get the sub post a picture. however, before you consider a sub get your speaker positioning right.
