Hi all ive just bought a ipod touch and am very impressed with it but im now looking for a good ipod dock to use in my car can anyone recommend one regards Anthony
I would have thought that a lot would depend on your car as well, many have manufacturers connection already built in, making it very easy, some have iPod specific connections, others generic mp3 one, hard wired is nearly always better than the likes of the ones that use radio bands, these do suffer when traveling through different areas.
Yup, FM transmitter pointless. If you have an aux in on the stereo, use that, if not and you still have one of those old fashioned 'tape player' things, use an adapter for that.
Also, depending on your car, you may be able to get it wired in so that it can be controlled from your head unit.
I use to use the dension ice in last car and it connected via the cd change port in the back of the CD player and depending on the car it will allow you to control via the stereo controls.
I would forget about the wireless fm transmitors as the sound quality is really poor.
ÿI spent £195 to have it fitted in my car via BMW and it is by far the best purchase's i have made!ÿ
ÿYou can pick up the dension ice at halfords and they can fit it as well.ÿ
If you want a cheap alternative to the Dension, I can recommend the Griffin AutoPilot. I use one between the aux-in of my Octavia and my Classic. Great sound and keeps it intelligently charged as well. I then use a standard sucker-on-the-windscreen pda holder to keep the 'pod secure whilst driving...
