Have you taken the plastic caps off the interconnect and got a firm connection at each end?
Yes I have tried all the sort of things which you kick your self for .the manual that came with the amp is next to useless unless you need something to level a bookcase or light a fire . hows you young son and good Lady well I hope christmas will be good this year and for many years to come:) :)

 Other than that (I didn't take the cap off once, which is why I suggested ;) ) make sure settings are correct for output in TV and input in amp.

We're all really well, thanks for asking :) Baby boy has recently started sitting up and is a little delight:

I hope you and your family are doing well also and that you have a great Christmas :)

(Hmm, can't get the image to display using my phone, I'll try again if I remember. Thanks again.)

Hey there,

not sure if you successfully resolved you issue yet, but I had a similar problem, everything was set up correctly, I could see the red light from the cable but the AVR did not register anything..

The solution was very simple, a new cable was needed. Apparently, seeing the red light indicates next to nothing. :D

My cable was treated well and was maybe 3 years old. I also never heard of an optical cable gone bad, but that is just what happened.

Hope this helps.

Martin
