I'd like to buy a record cleaner but I'm wondering what your experiences have been. My vinyl collection is pretty clean but some need a light clean to eradicate dust and particles that have built up in the grooves. A couple of albums skipped today and when I gently wiped them with a cloth they played ok again. I'm not sure my vinyl is bad enough to be immersed in anything, and I'm not sure I'd be too happy doing that, but I used to have a hand held velvet brush that didn't seem too bad. What do you all use? Any recommendations? Thanks.
Hello,
first off, i am from germany, my english may sound not right everytime but i keep learning.
Well, what i can recommend is this one:

The Disco Antistat with the cleaning solution did it for me. This is not advertising.
I first started with a sponge, some detergent fromthe kitchen and clean clothes. But it was a hassle, cleaning every record by this method, i put them on a towel to dry...
What i have experienced with the cleaning solution and the machine is that the brushes inside the bath really scrub the dirt away and i have very less statics.
But well, it depends what you want or can spent on such gear and how often do you need to clean.
I have seen overpriced and huge machinery that does the job automatically or have such things like little vacuum cleaners to dry faster and remove every little residue.
What i want to try next is to uprade my Disco Antistat with ultrasonic, therefore i want to install the oscitllating head from an old cleaner into that housing, what i have read is ultrasonic cleaning of record the best you can do.
Ready to use machines are on the market, but i like to build it myself.
Hope this helps for your decision.
Cheers, tom
