Hi, im using RS premium cambridge audio banana plugs with my yamaha RX-V667 amp and KEF 2005.3k2 speakers. They are soo tight in the amp end that i had to screw the terminals up (not supposed to) then push them in otherwise loose then pushing in was so chance of breaking the terminals! In the KEF speakers they just slide half way out and are loose on all speakers. Although they only slide about half inch out i need to pull to get out completely but they are not a what i would call a secure fit! Will this effect performance much? Seem dissapointing for the dearest premium RS bananas! Does anybody else use them and what do they think/do you have you same trouble. Also could i use bananas amp end and bare wire speaker end as the kef screws that hold the wire in look far more secure?

Thanks DAZ

Bananas don't improve the sound in any way so if you prefer, just use bare wire connections. Personally I find the Milty plugs to be the best screw-on bananas and use these in my system.

Is it ok to have bananas on amp end and bare wire on speakers. Does it make any different?

If i use bare wire connection can i fold bare wire end b4 connecting for a more sturdy and better contact.( n shape?)
