Cambridge Audio 650bd latest firmware upgrade

Hi

Recently updated player this week, which is multi rgeion for dvd out of the box.

Tried region 1 dvd tonight and the player is saying wrong region code, so i guess the multi region capability of the player has been taken away with the recent firmware update. Update firmware via ethernet cable.

Anyone else have this problem? Or any ideas why now not working for me?

The update process deactivates multi-region DVD playback.

Please run the disc supplied with the 650BD to remedy this.

After scrambling around the loft I found the update disc still in the box.

Have ran the disc and all sorted now.

Ben, sorry OP for side-tracking a little, but have you had any issues with excessive transport noise on the 650BD when playing SACD discs? I have this problem, doesn't happen with blu-rays or stereo CDs, but when I play SACDs it whirs away quite noisily?
Don't want to be without it for long by sending back, as is a great player otherwise!!

Dealer at RS says noise is because SACDs spin faster.

Hoping that the 751 (now fully detailed on CA website, and looking good) has a better transport. I will then explain to my wife that a firmware update for the 650 reduced the noise, and also changed the menu screen and code on the front, and....
